Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!

In Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!, players take on the role of Little Mac, a young boxer competing in a series of intense matches against colorful, fictional opponents in a quest for the World Heavyweight Championship. Originally featuring real-life boxer Mike Tyson, the game's final opponent was later changed to Mr. Dream in subsequent releases. As Little Mac progresses through the circuit, he'll need to master his basic punching arsenal, consisting of left and right jabs and body blows, as well as an uppercut that requires earning a star by counter-punching his opponent. Defensively, Mac can dodge, block, and duck punches, but must be mindful of his limited heart meter, which decreases with each hit or block and leaves him temporarily vulnerable. A bout can end via knockout, technical knockout, or decision, with each opponent requiring a different point total to secure a win by decision. Mac can only get up three times during any match, making each fight a high-stakes challenge. Losing a match will result in a ranking drop, with multiple losses forcing Mac to fight his way back up the circuit. Ultimately, a loss to Mike Tyson or Mr. Dream means game over.
