In Pokémon Stadium 2, the player's journey begins by selecting six Pokémon from a vast pool of 250 available, including legendary Pokémon. The main objective is to excel in the Stadium's tournaments, competing in four Cups: the Little Cup, the Snorlax Cup, the Prime Cup, and the Master Cup. Each Cup consists of a series of battle rounds, with the Little and Prime Cups having four rounds, while the Snorlax and Master Cups consist of four rounds as well, each emulating a different type of Poké Ball. As the player progresses through the Cups, another challenge awaits: the Gym Leader Castle, where they must conquer the Gym Leaders' challenges. Upon completing the Cups and the Gym Leader Castle, the player's path crosses with their Rival, who presents a formidable test. Defeating the Rival unlocks the next phase of the game, Round 2, where the player must relive the Stadium, Gym Leader Castle, and their battle against the Rival, but this time with an added layer of complexity, as the Rival's Pokémon are now more potent and the difficulties have escalated, making the ultimate goal of completing the game even more demanding.
